'l' l I4-...I l I Baseball Team C Becomes Regional Champs The 1.980 baseball team, coached by Len Bending, finished a successful season with an 18-11 record. For the Hrst time, Hersey became Regional Champs in baseball. They later lost in sectionals to a strong Bar- rington team, 1-0. The captains this year were Tom Conlin, BJ Jor- dan and Durson Durm us. Pitcher Tom Conlin was named Most Valuable Player. Tom was also named All-Conference, All-Area, and he participated in the Illinois Baseball Coaches All-Star game in Peoria. Cen ter Helder Bl Jordan was also named A1l-Confer- ence. Durson Durm us played left field and was also a good hitter, Unfortuna tel y, Durson was injured in the fifth game against Conan t, which kept him out for the rest of the season.
