tactical Arts on tin ues Expand The Practical Arts Division is made up of business education, home economics, and industrial arts. The division, headed by Mr. John Hangey welcomed two new teachers this year: Joanna Bucci, who teaches in the business education department, and Betsy Betker, new in the home economics department. The division added a class this year called Parenting. The Practical Arts staff is working toward getting more students involved in their many occupational areas. Students can choose from classes such as typ- ing, accounting, and auto mechanics. Male and female participation is equally encouraged in all courses. This year the division had their DA VTE evaluation which is given once every Hve years. This evaluation looks at the programs offered and provides input for improvement and update. The department continues to expand by adding new courses and increasing enrollment in classes al- ready being offered. by Terri Conlon Colleen Nelson concentrates on her warm-up UW' Ron Urban works with precision. There have been a few changes in this department since last year. Discon tin uing the Leader's program and ' separating the Freshman - Sophomore gym classes M - from the Junior - Senior classes were two other I V changes from last year. Junior and Senior classes were permitted to choose from a number of different units such as weight train- V ing, yoga, basketball, badminton, rollerska ting, bowl- ing, and many others.
