Ma th-Science 1dens Horizons The Ma th-Science Department, headed by Mr. Don- ald Hruby, had a very successful year. There was an addition to the staff of Mrs. Dorothy O'Connell. She was a long term substitute for Mr. Burt, who under- went surgery. The department also added many new classes to the curriculum. Microbiology, which hasn't been of- fered for a few years, was reinstated along with many new and advanced courses. Informal Geometry, Ad- vanced Placement Chemistry, Computer Ma th 2, and two levels of Advanced Placement Calculus offer a challenge to Hersey students. Hersey has added additional computers to the divi- sion, also. They have become very popular- both in and out of the classroom. Finally, there is the Ma th-Science Resource Room for a quiet place to relax and study.
