'M y Fair Lady, Captiva tes Crowds On May 14, 15, 16 and 17 Hersey's Little Theater presented the Broadway musical My Fair Lady. This smash hit concluded the 1979-80 theatrical season, The principal characters included seniors Rob Hay- den as Professor Henry Higgins, and Leanne O'N eil and Debbie Sandlund, who shared the role of Eliza Doolittle. Supporting them were seniors Dave Hirsch as Freddy Eynsford-Hill, Harvey Bennett as Alfred P. Doolittle, and sophomore Howard Sta uffer as Colo- nel Pickering. Other members of the cast and crew also contributed greatly to the success of the show. The director of the Show was Bruce Drouin. Work- ing with him were Choral Director Richard Turasky, Technical Director Ed Moon, Choreographer Patty Byrnes, Orchestra Director James Rich and Joan Howdle, who worked on costumes and make-up. Congratulations are in order to all Who helped to make My Fair Lady a success. This play carried on the tradition of fine theatrical productions at Hersey. by Sue Dietzen With a little bit of luck Doolittle fHarvey Bennettl will get by. Arch ery 'S Season igh t 11 Target The 1980 Archery Team began their season with a slow start, but they quickened their pace to prove once again they were state material. Although their record was 3-6' and they were in 6th place going in to the conference meet, the Huskies toughened up and captured 3rd place. Maureen Frank was the overall Conference Champion with Peggy Perkins close be- hind in 13th place. At the state tournament, Maureen received a third place medal and the team received sixth place. The downstate team consisted of Maureen Frank, Peggy Perkins, Maryann Maas, Shawn Beasley, Donna Hoff- man, and Beth Watson. The State of Illinois has dropped the Archery pro- gram because of the lack of interest from other schools. Only six of the fourteen schools in the MSL had archery teams. Coach Bullen feels bad that it was dropped because there was a lot of interest and poten- tial talent at Hersey. We had a young and inexperi- enced teamg some of the girls had never shot before, but as conference came along, the skills had improved tremendously sta ted Coach Bullen. Needless to say, Archery will be missed at H erse y.
