A.F.S. Makes Friends Around the orld J s E A.F.S. has been a part of Hersey since 1968. Since 5 that time, they have hosted 30 A.F.S. students from 2 24 different countries and 4 Americans on the Domes- tic exchange program. Thirty-one Hersey students f have participated in the AFS Americans Abroad or Domestic Programs. This year at Hersey We had three Americans Abroad students: Annette Johanson from Denmark, Claudia Pinto from Chile, and Chris Raschke from Brazil. We also had one domestic exchange from Menominee, Michigan, Angie Zagrodnik. A.FiS. has helped many people explore different lands and experience new cultures. Service Over Self fS.0.S.l is a growing club, de- signed to get students involved in their community. The club works with people in need of help, recogniz- ing the needs of pre-school Head Start children to Senior citizens. This year's officers are President El- len Fabbrini, Wce-President Maril u Powers, Treasur- er Doug Ward and Secretary Keith Wilhelm. The clubs list of activities has increased with the years and are too numerous to men tion. A few of their major projects are Senior Citizens Clean Up Day where the students do house and yard work for the elderly, clothing drives and distribution, olympics for the retarded, Christmas and Easter parties for head start children, remembering the elderly on holidays, a christmas toy drive for needy children, etc. Faculty advisor Will Kozlowski works many long hours along with the students to be sure no one goes unnoticed. by Lori O'Neill f 45 : . bv ,.,.
