Pomberets stop to pose for a picture during the car rally. om berets Start New radi tion During the 1980-81 school year the Pomberets went to many competitions, performed at football and bas- ketball games, promoted school spirit during pep as- semblies and participa ted in various school activities. Their competitions were held at University of Illi- nois, Northern Illinois, Soldiers Field, and the Morris Illinois Corn Festival. Their most exciting competi- tion was held at Cape Code, Mass., in April. Not only did they perform at competitions with the band, they also did the football halftime crowd pleas- er marching to our bands tremendous sounds. They decided however, to stick to their traditional basket- ball Halftime performing to records. At pep assemblies, they did a great job firing up the crowd and getting everyone involved in the excite- ment. The talented corps consisted of 32 girls.
