rch esis 4Footloose and Fan cyfree! , The 1980-81 Orchesis dance group once again daz- zled and entertained Hersey students and faculty throughout the year with its half-time performances and annual show. This year Orchesis consisted of twenty-Eve people interested in dancing, with tryouts held in the spring. They performed through- out the year at football and basketball half-times, the Christmas Assembly, and their Hnal performance, which was a three day show held in the theatre. This year's show was held March 56,7 and was called Footloose and Fancyfree . From the sixteen dances in the show, two of these were presented in the District show and two were in competition for the Illinois Sta te Dance Festival. The styles in the show this year included: Ballet, belly dancing, jazz, modern, abstract and mime. There were two new additions and surprises to Or- cheses this year. The new sponsor, Miss Holly Ost, replaced Mrs. Vicki Jacobs. Another new addition this year was the Hrst males ever to join the group. All the hard work and practices were all worth the effort, which helped bring Orchesis success this year. by Kirsten Dailey and Rose Vazzano . . .. .... and the meek shall inherit the earth. Jean Leipzig, Patty Thompson, and Chris Weinberg are having a mime of a time. Orchesis members hit a dramatic Hnal pose. Ingrid Bal tasi flashes a smile to the crowd.
