i 'Fantasy In White' 5 Christmas Ball, 1974 The Christmas Ball was held at the Howard Johnson Hotel Grand Ballroom in Palatine, lll., on December 14, 1974. This was the first time that this big event was held off campus. Music for the dance was provided by the band Renais- sancef' A cola bar and hors d'oeuvres were provided for the thirsty, hungry couples. Paula Turnbull was crowned this year's Fantasy in White queen. Her court included Chris Giannini, Janet Kasper, Liz Malecki, and Pat Ways. The evening of December 14, 1974, will be remembered by all who attended. 'Blithe Spirit' Spooks Hersey Audiences 'Blithe Spirit,' an improbable farce by Noel Coward was presented by the Hersey Theatre on December.6 and 7. The sophisticated comedy was ably portrayed by the cast which included Nancy Wildberger fElviraJ, Laura Paa CRuthJ, Mark Horowitz CCharlesJ, Mary LaPlante fMrs. Bradmanb, Cameron Pfiffner fDr. Bradmanl, Char Rein- hold CMadame Arcatel, and Lily Trofimoff fEdithJ. They received a well deserved standing ovation from the near capacity audience. The plot revolved around the ghostly retum of Charles' first wife, Elvira, after Charles had been remarried seven years to his second wife, Ruth. Situations became hilar- ious as Elvira was visible only to Charles. Elvira planned the death of Charles so that the two could be rejoinedg in- stead Ruth was mistakenly killed. Their bickering contin- ued in their afterlife and in midst of the crumbling stage, Charles deserted both to find a new life.
