Weather permitting, the group went on weekly trips to nearby stables where they learned and practiced the tech- niques of horseback riding. The club is sponsored by Miss Cecelia Mayerle. The small but devoted group worked hard to finance their spring trip to the excavation sites of early Indians. An- other major activity was their monthly lec- ture by the Archeological Society in Chicago. Pep Club, GRA Promote Sports' Activities With Hersey's continued rise as an ath- letic power this year, Pep Club has been responsible for boosting the ever-growing Husky spirit. Their major activities this year involved sweater sales, sponsoring the after-Corona- tion dance, and numerous poster parties. The Girls' Recreation Association, spon- GIRLS' RECREATION ASSOCIATION. Along with their annual Sleep-In, the girls partic- ipated in hall decorations, a skating party and competitive sports days at schools throughout the district.
