Phil Benedict lays up an important two points at Arlington. jV's Compile 15- Season Record Hersey's JV basketball team followed tra- dition by starting their season with a string of victories. In their first three contests the J V's whipped their opponents before dropping their first to Arlington, 52-44. The Huskies bounced right back, however, with a win over Palatine, 59-37. After the holiday break the JV's won a pair over Fremd and Elmwood Park. The team then went 4-1 in their next five outings capping it off with a 51-50 decision over Wheeling. The Huskies then beat Glenbard North and lost to Conant. In all, it added up to a fine season for coach Al Kintzle's charges. Varsity Cagcrs Post 19-5 Season Record Husky varsity cagers experienced some year, starting out by whipping their first four opponents before losing a one-pointer to Maine South. Before entering the Danville holiday tour- ney, the Huskies beat Palatine and then Went on to take the Consolation Championship in the Danville Classic. After the holiday break the Huskies Won six straight and then lost a heart-breaker to Wheeling on a last second desperation shot. After four more wins the Huskies dropped the Conference title to Prospect before enter- ing the Regionals where they were knocked out of contention by Barrington after having beaten Libertyville. Bruce Frase, Andy Pancratz and John Tilhou won All-Conference honors at season's end.
