Not Pictured: Roberta Geiger, Diane Saber. Girls' Tennis Team, The Girls' Tennis Team marked a break- through in girls' sports as it was the first team to compete in league competition. The 11-member squad was a member of the North Suburban Tennis League and finished fourth in a seven team league its first year. Top singles player was Carol Daneggerg top doubles team was Dawn Ahlman and Debbie Hall. arate Club Compete The Karate Club concentrates on learning defensive abilities, sport and competition, conditioning and character building. The club is run through the Japan Karate Association and members receives their belts according to association requirements. Majorcttcs, Pombcrcts Entertain Fans The Majorettes participated in a variety of activities as Well as performing in local parades, and capturing first place at the Lake Forest College competition. Included in some of the Majorettes routines this year were fire baton twirling and Working with two batons simultaneously. Captain of the squad was Debbie Burke with Helen Gleason, co-captain. The Pomberets for their third year marched POMBERETS. Front Row: Jill Kerr, Vicki Dudek, Kris Miller, Sue Table, Dee Adrana, Chris Ramsey, Marci Hale, Debbie Fisher, Dawn Adams, Debbie Hoya, Gail Sutton, Pam Clements, Linda Lombardo, Mary Ellen Naples, Eileen Griesch, Veronica Kraegler. Row 2: Janis Furlong, Sally Clancy, Laura Newman, Sue Smith, Debbie McCombs, Ann Weaver, Vicki Brebelle, Sharon Childs, Peggy Bellagamba, Brenda on to provide entertainment at Hersey acti- vities and athletic events. The 48-member squad spent long hours in school and at night perfecting the intri- cate routines they presented to spectators. This year the group concentrated on variety in their routines, not strictly drill team pat- terns.
