Frosh-Sophs 9-1 In Dual Season For the second year, the Frosh-Soph thin- clads registered an excellent season by win- ning nine of their ten- dual meets. Enjoying moderate success in the overall indoor season with 4-2, the Frosh-Sophs weren't to be outshone by anyone as they moved outdoors and won all seven of their meets to give them an overall record of 11-2. Standouts for the Frosh-Sophs were Frank Walsvvorth in the two-mile rung Dave Kuntz in the Sprints: and John Jones in the 880- yard rung all of ,whom brought home their shares of blue-ribbon performances. As many of the sophs move up to the varsity level in '71, much better things are hoped for by the varsity. 25

Thinelads Record 6-4 In Dual Meets A combination of seasoned seniors and reliable juniors helped the Varsity thinclads record a respectable 6-4 dual meet indoor- outdoor record for 1970. In addition, the squad won all of its three triangular meets to give it an overall record of 9-4 for the '70 season. During the indoor season, the Huskies won five while losing only one to Maine East. Moving outdoors, the squad didn't jell as was expected and managed to only Win four of its seven meets. Mainstays of the squad were Greg Gawlik and Ed Rieger in the distancesg Chris Kel- sey and Kurt Kiefer in the sprints and hur- dles and Don Spry in the field events. Spry was the lone Hersey qualifier for the state meet in the high jump. Chris Kelsey comes charging out of the starting blocks Don Spry shows form which qualified him for State track meet. Varsity Golfers 9-35 Frosh-Sophs 9-2-1 Hersey's varsity linkmen had a very re- spectable season with an overall record of 9-3 with a conference record of 6-3. The varsity won seven of its first eight meets before losing its second of the season to Forest View. In the conference meet, the Huskies took fourth place and Rick Fossel- man took individual fifth place honors. After the conference meet the Huskies won two of their last three. The Frosh-Sophs won six of their first seven before tying Elk Grove, 177 all. They won three of their last four meets for a 9-2-1 tally. 26 Rich Fosselman bears down on ball on way to green.
