Using the latest resources available, The Pupil Personnel Division is able to assist students on the personal level at almost any time. The office of Dean Keith North is an adjunct to Assistant Principal Louis H. Schultz and is primarily concerned with problems arising through student behavior and attendance. Director of Student Activities Boyd Saum takes on the responsibility of coordinating all Hersey-related student activities and their smooth termination. English-Fine Arts Expands ffcrings The 1970-71 school year saw the English department of the EFA Division expand its course offerings to near fifty allowing stu- dents to select literature and writing courses which particularly interested them. There were also other specialized course dealing with film study, radio-television and humanities. During the first semester, the EFA divi- sion also instituted a communicative arts curriculum refinement committee consisting of six students and six faculty who met regularly to discuss refinement of EFA cur- riculum. This was the first instance where- in students had an equal voice in curriculum matters at Hersey. Courses in the music department continued to mushroom as interest mounted in both choral and instrumental music. The art department continued to satisfy students' interests in painting, sketching, sculpture and ceramics.
