'Fantastiks' Uses Unique Theatrics The Fantastics, a modern Romeo and Juliet, dealt with two young people, Dave Good and Bonnie Bowker, who were kept apart by their conniving fathers, Ken Scherpelz and Ted Bierdeman. Portraying various roles as a wall, brick- layer and servant was Chuck Weissmuller, who spoke no lines. Ben Melvin and Craig Sjogren played an old Shakespearean actor and his Indian sidekick respectively. On his adventures to the four corners of the world Dave encountered strange experi- ences and matures only to return to his true love, Bonnie. Bob Moore was the narrator of the play, El Gallo, the adventurous man of the world. Directing the production was Miss Mimi Davis assisted by Mr. Charles Jenks who handled the music. Bob Moore tries to alter the marriage plans of Bonnie Bowker and her lover. Ben Melvin Chuck Weissmuller, Ken Scherpelz, Dave Good, Bonnie Bowker, Ted Blerdeman Bob Moore and Craig Sjogren form the entire cast of The Fantastlks

Keith Szarabajka listens intently as his nephew Tom Kropp confides in him 'Thousand Clowns' Portrays Realism Portraying one part of the realistic side of life, A Thousand Clowns, presented May 22-23, 1970, dealt with society's attempts to alter the lives of contented persons. Playing the lead role of Murry Burns was Keith Szarabajka who received support from Tom Kropp who played his nephew. Rounding out'the cast were Steve Carson and Esther Ratner as the social workers who attempted to have Nick taken away from Murry's custody. Ben Melvin portrayed the role of Murry's brother who tried to get Murry his job back from Lee the clown Herman, played by Rick Noll. 8 Keith Szarabajka argues with the social workers Steve Carson and Esther Ratner as they explain their plans for taking his nephew Tom Kropp away from him. r 'g.aRs',,f,.x 5- iff' - ,9
