mWRY OF SEN OR CLASS The Senior Olaes of 1950 started their four year Journey ae reorulte In September, 19 Their objective wae to receive promotion to higher ranka and to make thla four year voyage a worthwhile trip. When the reorulte becsune used to eea-duty the old salts honored them with an Initiation ceremony. Two of the members beosime sea-elok and had to leave the Showboat. These two were Wllbert Salzer and George Brockel. Officers elected for the recruits were Bobble Brandner, President; Mary Senftner, Vice President; Jean Salt- sledler, Sec. emd Treas. Mr. Kllnger and Miss Fennlger were advisors. Mary Senftner and Wllmer Delbert were picked as the Ship ' s Royalty. After three months of shore leave we returned to the Showboat gmd were pro- moted to the rank of deck hands. Lead- ers chosen for this year were Mary Senftner, President; Bobble Brandner, Vice President; Bemloe Schuetzle, Sec. and Treas. Mr. K. Biihler was our class advisor. Our royalty OEmdldates were Lyla Delbert and Lester Schnalble. Shirley Kluokmein left the Showboat to continue her Journey with the Mobrldge crew. Dtirlng this year the Student Council was formed and Lyla Delbert represented the deck hands In this new organization. Delbert Rueb, Louis Sch- aefbauer, Lester Schnalble and Oomell Ochsner left the ship, leaving the num- ber of deck hands at twenty-seven. lor la Delbert was elected President during our third year of duty. Other Navigator officers elected were Phyl- lis Koet,Vloe President and Tom Blsch- ke. Sec. and Treas. cmd Student Coun- cil. Mr. Obenauer was chosen advisor. Highlights In this year was our olass play Out of This World . Later In the year we went full steam ahead to honor our Senior Officers with a ban- quet, Carrying out the appropriate theme the 9er ' B.Tom Blschke and Mary Senftner represented the Navigators as Queen smd Escort. We reported for our last year of duty In September of 19 9 determined to complete our laiet year of service. Our official title was the Ship ' s Officers. As President we elected Donsad Ebel, Vice President, Bonnie Fenske; Bemloe Schuetzle, Sec. and Treas. Lorraine Trailnger and Herbert Rlsohe acted as delecates on the Student Council. Mr. A. E. Joachim led the Ship ' s Officers through their last year. Alvlna Berth became sea-sick and was forced to dis- continue her duty. Bemloe Schuetzle and Herbert Rlsche reigned as Ship ' s Royalty at the an- nual carnival. As one of the evenings entertainment the Ship ' s Officers presented the play Almost Eighteen . We are now approaching the harbor, and the anchor Is lowered. We stopped mo- mentarily for the long awaited Gradua- tion Exercises. From the Showboat Joui ney we go out Into life ' s Journey.
