GIRLS' STATE—BOYS’ STATE Dirigo Girls' State was held in June at Colby College, Waterville, Maine, with Jane Pike attending and Joanne Goodspeed as an alternate. This exercise was sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Post ol Hermon. Bob Booker and Herb Crosby attended Boys' State on the Maine Campus for a period of one week after the close of school. Rus- sell Patten was an alternate. These delegates learned the fundamentals of our municipal, county and state government. This was an impres- sive and unforgettable week.
