Literaiy God’s Creation When God made this world of ours Truth was meant to be; He also sent the Holy Word That dwells in you and me. Little did he know the love That lives within a heart, So filled with wanting to do right Sharing more than another’s part. 1 bring his rosary to you As he would have done, And caution you in every way The battle is not won. For ’twas his son he sent to die So that we might be free; And thus was born the sacred tie The blessed trinity. Remember in your tasks each day The virtue you may see. As kindness lives within his heart So lives a love for thee. Marlene Duplisea Class of 1958 That’s One on the Teacher! P. Hunt: “Why is it that you alw-ays say that the boys are making all the noise, the girls talk too.’’ J. Palmer: “That’s right!” Mrs. Bowen: “Boys, toys, stop that noise, who’s being the noisest now?” J. Palmer: “You are.” The Morning After! P. Buell to E. Libby: “Late to bed, early to rise, can make a girl ‘dead’ and baggy eyed.” Ever Try It? Mrs. Hardy: “Where is a good place for a woman to meet a man ?” D. Dean: “Ever try the Odd Fellows Hall?” Senior Class Trip D. Jewett (to E. Lawrence) : “If you take your heels you’ll to sorry.” Mr. Bemiss: “I’m sorry but they’ll have to go, they’ve paid their class dues.” My Goal or My Despair? What are my goals, my hopes, my dreams? As a high school senior I should know, I’m ashamed to admit that I don’t. How many of us are there who are in the same predica- ment? We all want a rosy future, a happy life, but how to attain it? Out of the mist before us there arises a solution. I could be—what? Why that’s it! That is something I have always been interested in. not talented enough to make a career of it by itself, so why not teach it? A dramatic teacher, a coach of plays. To do this would mean a further education, possibly four years in a school where I could major in drama. To think of this is child play, play acting. Hearing someone else I’d wish it were me and I’d never be satisfied. I could go into the secretarial field, what is there to stop me? I’m too slow and I don’t particularly like it. My stomach isn’t strong enough for nursing and I haven’t much patience. What is there left? Marriage? Not for a while. I’m not a misfit, I’m an average human being. Mixed up, undecided, is this the way that I must face the future? Only time will tell! Sylvia Archer Class of 1956
