Sclioof Our New School Building Coming back to school this year after the summer vacation was a little more pleasant than usual. We had a new school building with which we were hardly aquainted as only six weeks had been spent in it. During the summer, new tile floors were laid and the Chemistry Lab completed with four new lab tables and hundreds of dollars worth of equipment. Our new high school has eight class rooms, a library and a lab. Our gymnasium is in a separate building along with the Industrial Arts shop. Besides the newness and neatness of the school, there are also other modern features for convenience and safety: an intercommunication system permits announcements to be made to every room at one time. Also, devotional exercises are participated in by every room at the same time. The safety feature in our building is an automatic alarm system which eliminates the chance of a fire starting in the building without being noticed. If the temperature in any room goes above 140 degrees, the alarm sounds; it is also triggered if any room’s temperature rises more that 20 degrees in seven seconds. We, the students of Hermon High School, are proud of our new build- ing and it is our earnest desire to have our school look as neat and as new ten years from now as it does today. To have our wishes carried out, we must all do our parts in keeping the rooms we work in and the exterior free from any ugly characteristics. This must be not only our attitude but the attitude of all who follow us in the years to come.
