They begin with our dreams, each as numerous as the autumn leaves that remind us of the changes that life holds in store for us. And as winter’s snow changes the world around us, so too, do our perceptions of our selves and the paths we seek to follow. It is a time of thought, a time of self, a time to reflect on where we are going and who we will become. Donald S. Fuller Tracey Lea Brunet Mike George Kimberly Anne Allen Rita Brown Marvin Garvey Joshua Balling Laurie Kay Donaldson Noelle H. Bardeschewski Nathaniel J. Bray Tami Lynne Donaldson Soon, these answers become clear, as the world around us springs forth with challenges and change. Never constant, we are a reflection of the world in which we live, a world where our todays prepare us for the tomorrows to come. Summer then beckons us to leave this place we have come to call home. And as we end one dream, we begin another, For the seasons of our lives, are seasons for change. — Kevin M. R. Mayne 35 Michael E. Gilbert Paul G. This year’s soccer team was led in both skill and dedication to these values by a small but talented group of seniors. Their hard work, leadership and loyalty were the major contributing fac- tors to the periods of good soccer this team generated. For the past 13 years, he has been the coach of the Varsity Demons and coached Junior Var- sity for three years before. In 1970, he came to HD to teach. Soon after, a couple heavy-weights asked him to “roll around” on the mat and that began his interest in the sport. Over his coaching career here at Her- mon-DeKalb, Mr. Bray has amassed quite a record. The Demons have been Class C- D Champions 9 out of 10 years of the class’s existance. This year, the Demons became the only school to capture the Sec- tion X crown 3 times. As Mr. Bray will be retiring from coach- ing we’d like to offer our congratulations to him and his team for all of the efforts that they have put into the sport. Row 1: J. Boshane, B. Simmons, D. JV WRESTLING The 1988-89 Varsity Wrestling squad placed among the top in tournaments held at Beaver River, Middlebury, and Sauquoit Valley. At the Essex Classic they placed second. At the Section X tournament they defended their sectional title for the third straight year. The dual meet record (10-2-1) was good enough for the Divisional title for the eighth time in the last nine years. The JV team were able to win the JV Divisional title for the 9th straight year. Individual accomplishments included All Northern Athletic Conference First Team Honors for 91 lbs. Brent Eggleston; 119 lbs. David Brown; 126 lbs. Allen Grant; 132 lbs. Nathan Young; 145 lbs Nathaniel Bray; 155 lbs. Jeff Whitton; 167 lbs. Paul Whitton; 215 lbs. Robert McConnell; and 250 lbs. Marvin Garvey. The team had seven Sectional Champions, tying a sectional record, these included: 112 lbs. David Brown, 119 lbs. Allen Grant, 126 lbs. Nelson Carpenter, 132 lbs. Nathaniel Bray, 138 lbs. Jeff Whitton, 155 lbs. Paul Whitton, and 250 lbs. Marvin Garvey. David Brown set the Section X career wins record with over 135 wins, and was named MOW of the Section. Jeff Whitton was named MOW at two tournaments during the year. Nathaniel Bray was named to the All NAC Academic Wrestling Squad. The wrestling squad has not lost a league home wrestling match since 1984. Victories over all opponents were recorded in the second half of the season. The season proved to be very successful and a great deal of fun for the team and coaches. Row 1; B. Eggleston, S. Allen, M. Bason, I. Gardner. Row 2: D. Brothers, R. Thornton, D. Tyo, A. This was a rebuilding year for the girl’s Varsity with the majority of the starting team playing on the JV squad the previous season. This season was a great success in the fact that we defeated the teams that were close to our ability and skill level. We played extremely well against the “better” teams. With the im- proving skill level of the returning players, next year’s lady Demons should be very com- petitive. This year’s Girls JV’s finished the season with 6 wins, 6 losses in the conference and 6 wins, 9 losses overall. The three top scorers were Kelly Carpenter, Susan Morrill and Tracy Woodrow. Hopefully we have been able to help you both as you worked your way through this school and as you look toward your chosen future. All of us appreciate the time, effort, and no little bit of happiness that this moment should bring to you. Congratulations and the very best. BUS DRIVERS i Row 1: M. Trude, F. Baxter, E.
