Mr. Sandwick Students: My brief message this year deals with the future editions of your yearbook. You have all heard the word infla- tion and many of you have discussed this problem in class. Have you considered the fact that inflation could easily pre- vent the publication of your yearbook? Costs for having a yearbook printer! continue to escalate. Revenues for meeting these increasing costs are extremely difficult to obtain. Businesses are very reluctant to pay five or ten dollars more for an ad. Constantly increasing the price of a yearbook in order to meet costs, could result in a prohibitive charge and result in few sales. Publishing companies are in the business to make money and they charge an amount so they can make money, regardless of the number of books ordered. Fewer books ordered does not necessarily lower the total cost. I am not saying that this is the last yearbook. It can, and should, survive, but it will need the support of everyone. Some school organizations did help financially this year and they are to be complimented and thanked for this assistance. I foresee a future in which everyone will have to help, if the yearbook is to continue. Mrs. Peters and the Yearbook staff have developed another great success and we all appreciate their hard work. Signed, Board of Education Sitting: Mrs. Morrill, Mrs. Fenlong, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Vining. Standing: Mr. Carvel, Mr. Thornton, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Gelbwaks. Absent: Mrs. Yerdon.
