Foreign Exchange Student, 1978 My name is Martha Alicia Loya Garcia, I am a foreign exchange stu- dent from Salamanca, GTO. Mexico. My parent's name are Celso Loya V. and Ma. De Jesus G. De Loya. I have 4 sisters and 3 brothers. I graduated from high school in 1977. I plan to attend a Science col- lege next year in Mexico. The best thing that ever happened to me, was when my parents sent me to the United States so that I could learn all about this country and principally the English language. I have learned alot from the faculty and students here at Hermon-DeKalb. I will need it for my future and my country. I hope to be a great help in relations between the U.S. and Mex- ico. I want to give a special thank you to my teachers: Mr. Cline, my homeroom and typing teacher; Mr. Robarge, my science teacher; Mr. Jenison, Miss Fallon, and Mrs. Mobile, my reading teachers; Miss Mat- traw, my gym teacher and coach; Mrs. McElhearn, my Home Economics teacher, and Mr. Lynne, my art teacher. Also thank you everyone for a year of enjoyable experience and memories! I have become accustomed to your weather, your food, your customs, and my new family. I hope that I can return again sometime. Good-bye Vc kco Cv.. 0uj-C-a.6J

Dedication Because of your dedication and never-ending smiles, we. The Yearbook Staff of 1978 would like to dedicate this year's yearbook to you, Benny Reed. We all feel that you deserve this more than any other person and would like to thank you on behalf of all the students, faculty and staff at H-D. Because of the limited space on this one page, there is not nearly enough room to list all of the things you have contribu- ted to our school. Although life hasn't been the happiest for you, you never reflect this mood. You are always cheerful and there to lend a hand when there's work to be done. You have been a kind and disciplinarian person towards the students. Whenever there was an argument you would handle the situa- tion and help us feel that there were no hard feelings. The students at H-D could never do or say anything to repay the dedication and loyalty you display in your work. We hope that this shows how much you are appreciated and that every- one thinks only the best of you. We only hope that other schools could have a person as unique and as special as you.
