I DEDICATION You are ever on our side, one of our most ardent supporters in all we do. Throughout the years we have found you not only our teacher, but also a friend and an inspiration to all of us. Whenever we need you, you are there to assist us in any way you can. We gratefully dedicate the 1973 Demon to Mr. Thomas Robarge for the time and effort he has given IN MEMOREM The editors ask the readers of the DEMON to pause here for a moment to ponder. Hermon- DeKalb Central has meant different things to each of us during the time we have spent here. The total picture is composed of an infinite number of friendships and memories for each of us. Before our high school careers came to their close, our associations with Steven Grant and Mark Simmons came to abrupt ends, leaving with those of us who knew them a sense of loss and shock. Perhaps their deaths can aid us in determining the direction in which we will guide our lives upon leaving Hermon- DeKalb Central. 3 p N C P A L The yearbook staff and Mrs. Peters, advisor, are to be compli- mented for the production of this excellent book. Many hours of plan- ning and preparation are involved. Please accept my personal con- gratulations. In past years I have generally directed my few remarks to our graduating seniors. This year all students and teachers are included. All of us have a tendency to criticize and complain periodically about individual problems that arise. We also take for granted the many good features of individuals or institutions, such as school. What are some of these good features? I firmly believe that H.D.C.S. has the finest student body to be found anywhere. Most of you are pleasant, smiling, honest, and sin- cere people. It is a great pleasure to have you in school and I have enjoyed being your principal the past seven years. As you graduate and depart to other responsibilities, I know you will look back and realize that you were blessed with an outstanding staff of teachers. You have to agree that your teachers have been greatly interested in your success. Some may have seemed tough at the time but they still were very much interested in your achievement. As a prejudiced principal, I feel we have a very fine school. The opportunities are available. Please continue to take advantage of them.
