It gives me a great pleasure to take this opportunity to Wish you success in the future that lies ahead of you. It is the hope and prayer of your teachers and school administration that the academic and citizenship training you have received at HSHS will be rewarding to you. JACK W. JENKINS Wee-Princqval and Guidance Director 'naw 3.2 ' 'W U r'5.v7 wg, my H-N To the Class of 19631 You have reached the first important milestone in your aca- demic careers. This should not be the last one, however. Each of you has an obligation to explore and develop your potential to the fullest degree. It is no longer applicable to strive to reach for the moon. This has almost become a reality. Your generation must aspire to help quench man's thirst for knowledge beyond this point. You are committed to reach for the stars. Good luck to each one of you in your future endeavors. TRUMAN A. BAILY Dean of 6'i11.v To be truly educated one must keep on learning all his life, benefiting from new ideas and experiences. By vi- cariously sharing the thoughts, dreams, philosophies, theories, and experiences of others through reading, one expedites his own learning progress. What a treasure there is stored in our libraries. But to possess it, one must dig for it. An old Arabic saying states that the Wealth of the mind is the only true wealth. It cannot be taxed and you can take it with you. Read, read, and then read some more. The cheerleaders preceded the whole business in an old Ford pick- up, chanting Go, fight! Win to- night! Then came the Marching Band with the majorettes out front. About a hundred cars came next, all honking and roaring their motors. To accompany the cars was surpen- tine composed of juniors. The Homecoming Court was pre- sented at half time and the queen was crowned by Bob Kivle. The senior float was actually made up of two separate floats. The first depicted a bulldog in a football uni- form in a sulky, with a Pendleton Buckeroo pulling it, of course. Be- hind that came the prize for win- ning the race--a huge gold trophy. Juniors had a half-football, used as a boat, with the theme Sail over the Bucks. Sophomores had a goal post with a Bulldog getting ready to kick a Buck over it. 06' to Tournament Hermiston- Hermiston- Hermiston- Hermiston- 4 Hermiston- 4' Hermiston- 4' Hermiston- 4 Hermiston- 4' Hermiston- 4' Hermiston- 4' Hermiston- 4' Hermiston- 4' Hermiston- 4' Hermiston- -60 4' Hermiston- 4' Hermiston 4' Hermiston 4' Hermiston 4' Hermiston 4' Hermiston 4' Hermiston -57 -52 -'71 4' Hermiston-56 BASKETBALL SCHEDULE 1962-1963 Eisenhower-43 Eisenhower-57 Wa-Hi-66 Wa-Hi-62 Bend-58 Redmond-37 LaGrande-59 Baker-51 The Dalles-58 Prineville-47 Madras-48 Pendleton-69 Mac Hi-30 Redmond-59 Bend-56 Baker-47 LaGrande-52 The Dalles-54 Madras-57 Prineville-48 Mac Hi-57 Pendleton-89 Bud Stratton , Senior Varsity Mike Knerr , Senior Ron Koivisto , Senior J im Howton, Semor Louie Stocker, Senior Rocky Phelps , Senior Bob Kivle , Senior Maurice O'Grady, Senior Action Jim Lynch, Junior Warren Horton , Senior Paul Thorne , Senior Galen Bush, Sophomore Mike Spike, Senior Jack Thomas, Junior Sandy Beach Head Cheerleader Barbara Moore Jeanne Vehrs Sandi McJunkin Ann Johnson Rally Promotes Spirit FRONT ROW: Ann Johnson, Jeanne Vehrs.
