There, Our Dear Old Alma Mater Stands Throned Midst Hills Of Green, As The White Clouds Bend Above Her, Shes The Fairest Ever Seen. Ol, Her Sons And Daughters Love Her Wth A Love That Knows No End, And VWth Garlands Fair Entvvine Her As Her Honor They Defend. For Her Ivy Walls Are Sacred To The Scenes Of Glad Spent Days, And Our Voices Rise In Parting As We Sing Her Endless Praise. Dedication We, the class of 1983, would like to dedicate this yearbook to our parents. You have stood by and supported us through all the trails and tribulations of our high school years. Through your love and guidance, we have grown into young men and women. Men and women, meaning people who have shared together, played together, laughed together, and grown together. You have kept our hopes alive when all else seemed to fail. But most of all, you ha ve shown us everlasting love that can never be forgotten or replaced. For this we love and thank you. To all our parents- You 71 Never Know . . You Gave Me Mags, And Taught Me To Fly. You Didn't Hold Back. You Showed Me The Sky. You Gave Me The World, On A Silver Tray. You Taught Me Of Love, And The Games People Play. You Gave Me The Strength, To Stand Alone. And All Of The Confidence To Make It On My Own. You Gave It All, But You 'll Never Know, Just How Much You Helped Me Grow. ln Memory .' Andrew Miller 1 July 29, 1964-May 2, e 1975 Sandra S Selvvood 1 June 19, 1965-Aug. 25, Thomas .I Voorhees Jan. 25, 1963- July 8, 1981 4 1981 Memories, light the cornors of my mind. Misty water colored memories Of the way We were. Scattered pictures, of the smiles we left behind Smiles we gave to one another Of the Wa y we were. Can it be that it was all so simple then, Or has time rewritten every line? If we had the chance to do it all again, Tell me would we, could we? Memories may be beautiful and yet, Whats too painful to remember, We simply choose to forget. So it's the laughter we will remember, Whenever we remember Thw Wa y we Were. Not only did our football team beat the Ilion Golden Bombers with a score of 38 to 0, but they also achieved Coach McMahon 's 50th victory. To celebrate, Coach McMahon was presented with a special cake, and the band Zen played at the dance on Saturday night. The Homecoming theme, One Step Closer, served to remind seniors of graduation growing closer. It also reminded everyone that we were one step closer to a CVC championship. Even though they didn 't come in Hrst, they still had a good time. A special thanks goes to Coach John Pryor who came out of retirement to lead the team. The highlights of the year came during the C.V.C. meet when seniors Tony Driscoll, Andy Wereszczak, and Art Richer took the C. V.C. in Badmrtton with undefeated records. Seniors Sue Hespelt, Marilyn Snyder, ak Janet Waghorn were battered by serves while Seniors Mary Beth Wood, Ang Annotto, and Cheryl Gizowski intimidated opposition at the net. Meanwhile Senior Marlissa Krech and Jackie supplied extra help. Our great coach Tre supplied the oral J: moral support but all would have been lost without Kristinls game plan. They even made it to sectionals. Special thanks goes to their great scorekeeper Ed Kovac. The volleyball team will always remember, never play jacks on a hot sidewalk. Whereas the badmitton team lacked experience but made it for it with effort and spirit. No matter what, Mary Ellen and Johann played they remained undeafeated. Now as for Lori it Marianne, well they never did get to play as doubles, but Lori played a very valuable game in the CVC championship game. Lori replaced Johann Ibeca use of' sicknessj and played with Mary Ellen a close to perfect game. Their win enabled Herkimer to take the CVC for the first time. We also did well in the CVC touranament in Ilion. Senior Holly Servadio took first for singles and our doublers Pia and Julie placed Second.
