IHHIKH '53 PIIIHISHEII BY S HS IH ufmmslum msn scuuol nnzmanm mms fmlu '53 Our future has now begun, Again a door swings wide-- A promise, yet a challenge, too, And we meet it with joy and pride. Through this open door we see a path That winds as the years unfold, We shall journey along--on our lips a song, We face all with our hearts so bold. We face these years ahead of us With memories so happy and gay-- Our Teachers, our friends and our classmates all, Studies, parties, classes and play. We love the dear school days gone by, And loyal to them, we shall beg The lessons you've taught and the goodness you've brought Will brighten our future with glee. HIRIWIIRII For the future we face--and face it we must, The path we shall walk with firm tread Unfaltering steps, strengthed by faith Shall stand each of us in good stead. As our future begins, and we bid you farewell, Our hearts ring out boldly in song, Bidding us all to hasten forth Into a world we shall help to make strong. Forward we go in search of good-- Out toward the golden rule, Toward hopes, toward courage, toward faith, and toward trust, As we say goodby dear old school. You will linger forever in thoughts of pure gold, May our loyalty, always be true, Your banner we'll hold, dear orange and maroon As we bow and say fondly Adieu . i-1 3 ew I AIIMI ISHIAIIII EARLE T ANDERSON LILA SIEK EDWIN BUTTERFIELD Supermtendent Clerk of the Board Prlnclpal gf' 1' FRED DOZIER ED DONAHUE RALPH BOELLING Board Member Board Member Board Member HARLAN TATGE T W HANNEGAN ERNEST SAUER Board Member Board Member Board Member 3 FAIZIIHY R LEIGH BELL Llbranan Study ll'ldUSU'l31 AFI Hall -I WALTER BROCKMEIER 8th Grade BURLEY MARTIN Coach Sclence BEN PICKERING Socxal Sclence Assistant Coach FRED FOREMAN SCIENCE Dnvers Tramlng Commerce DQ 154' 1 Ab- '-:r WNY HIlDA BILLMAN Sth Grade KENNETH GEOFFROY PHILIP JOY Muslc Mathemancs 432' DARREL Vocatlonal Home Economics Agnculture M-RS BERYLE SQIUMP MRS A111 WOLF MRS MARGARET TURCOTT English Spanish Enghsh 51211001 NUFSC Phys1ca1Educat1on ' C '19 Q x ff Q ' ' I ' 2' 'iw ' 4 ', l P' fa. ,... One of the main objectives of the Student Council this year was to better the relationship between the teachers and the students. The Student Council was organized in Herington High School only three years ago to give the students a more direct voice in the governing of the school. In the pursuit of this goal the Council took measures each year to familiarize the student body with the obligations they have in the operations of their school. 19 ANNIIM SI H We are honored to try to bind to- gether dear memories for you and give them to you with our best wishes in this Rocket , We are striving to capture in these pages the smiles and the tears, and hard work and the rewards, symbols that will, now and in the years to come, call to memory all the events of this year.
