SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS President - - - - . - - . - - EDGAR PICKETT V ice-President - INA MAE HASTINGS Secretary-Treas. ARTHUR HARRIS -MOTTO- Success comes not to those who shirk, To get up in the world, you must get down to work. ..COLORS.. Red and White -FLOWERS- White Rose SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In September, l924, fifty-six timid and wondering students entered the Hereford High School as Freshmen. We struggled through that year of seemingly hard work very successfully, after proving ourselves Green but Growing , as our motto sug- gested. We even made enough progress to be called the peppiest Fish that had en- tered high school in a long time. The next year we became Sophomores, as was indicated by our up-lifted heads and indifferent looks. We felt our superiority over our younger brothers, the down- hearted Freshmen. Of course the Juniors and Seniors knew that we were not the func- tion that made the school go, but they let us enjoy our egotism to our heart's content. When that year was completed, we felt that we had accomplished something wonderful. The next year was, perhaps, the happiest of our high school days. The Seniors were supreme in their dignity and importance, but we smiled to ourselves and left them alone. We realized that we would be Seniors the next year. Finally our Senior year arrived. We had many surprises in store for us. We had thought that the teachers felt sorry for the Seniors, but we found them to be as hard-hearted as ever. Some of us took subjects that were guaranteed to be snaps , but the snap came only as the result of much studying. In spite of these mistakes, and several disappointments, we enjoyed being Seniors very much. As every hour brings us nearer to the time we must leave old Hereford High forever, we feel both glad and sad. We are glad because we have reached the goal we wished to gain, and because we are ready to start our work elsewhere. We are sad because we hate to leave our younger classmates, our teachers, and the good times we have had in these four yars of work and play. Page Twenty-Six . I , Y,

Sweet Peas JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY On September I4, l925, eighty-three boys and girls came over from Central School to try a new experience High School was a new thrill, and the experience was funny. But the laugh gradually decreased to a smile, and the smvile soon died away, as we realized that high school was not all we thought it would be. Of course there were a few dumb Freshmen who took Latin, fthere always arej. But before they finished Caesar's Gallic Wars they wished they had taken the advice of their elders, the in- significant Sophomores. As Freshmen, we were a good class, as Sophomores we were better, but as juniors we are the best class in school. The Junior Class of l927-28 is to Hereford High School as the engine is to the Ford. Here's to the Juniors! -Erle Marie Foster.
