At Hereford, an evolution of traditions follows the lead of the community. We have lived and loved these traditionsg we have initiated new ones, we have dispelled those which were useless and frayed at the seams. All together we have captured the essence of beneficial progress yet never lost the tinges of humanity and reminiscence. Parallel to our changes in ideas, the Pioneer depicts an evolution, a cognizance of growth from bewildered seventh graders to more enlightened seniors. We find at graduation, young adults who are educationally more informed, emotion- ally more secure, and socially more adept. We visualize the spirit, the fun, the growing pains, and the laughter set against a background of serious educational pursuit. As we approach the close of this yearbook, we find, not a termination, but a grand beginning for those who have reached the doorway to maturity. As members ofthe Pioneer, they will find. as did their predecessors and as will their followers. that Hereford has given them the foundation for success. awmfdfwf 5-t',al.e,:71.wd TABLE OF Faculty and Aclmmzstratwn Hereford Lyfe faraor Hzgh Classes Athletzes Serlwr H Lgll Classes Aetwmes Seniors Page 1 Page Page 2 Page 4 Page 5 Page 72 Page 92 CONTENTS Hf Dedication TW?1 1Z3jf4XMftT955'VQ5g'2 1211415 n -M-1 FQ-418 l P 1i1i11f1f1i1bf2f1?1f111 1 W, 6411 1 194 4f4f14ff91- cf 525212554-1311114325133 , 6' I 4. . 1 ,X jw f ,f lf Xf 761 6371 N !! Because they provide the backbone for progress, we are infinitely fortunate to have the people we do. Their guidance has been immeasurable to us. From the Science Fair to Hay Day we have gained from their suggestions and depended on their encourage- ments. In addition to their educational responsibilities, we know we may always look to them as friends. It's a wonderful feeling to know the closeness of the Faculty- Student-Administration relationship that we can claim at Hereford. MR. ROBERT T. BISSETT St-vcnth Grade Core MISS LORNA O. Characterized by laughter, we cheer our teams on to yictory or warm our giddy hearts by the music of the dances. However, we find in our more serious moments, when diligently pursuing the fleet-footed bird of educa- tion, that youth is more than a time of life, it is also a state of mind. To the upperclassmen who lead our high school on to glory. We find in these people the exuberance of life and a certain seriousness of purpose. They learn, 0 they love, and they laugh but always they progress-grow -and carry Hereford with them. They leave indelible marks which will be a challenge for others to fulfill. As seniors we watch and we wait but we really feel no difference, no great wisdom which comes with our superior age or experience. Graduation comes and flits away in a matter of moments. Suddenly we are embark- ing on a new adventure, yet what fills our minds is awe and a thousand memories. We are full of hopeg we possess an innate faith. We can lift our heads high and laugh with the sheer joy of life and say, Almost everything that is great was done by youth.
