Mr. And Mrs. Gerald D. Gastineau 3 I The Publications Class of 1974-75 is paying a special tribute to lVlr. and lVlrs. Gerald Gastineau. We wish to give special recognition to both for the contributions they have made to Dunklin R-5 School System. lVlr. Gastineau, whose chief responsibility is to see that our schools give each child the highest quality of education, has done an excellent job in achieving this, the past eleven years that he has been Superintendent of our schools. Under his guidance our school has attained its AAA rating and has also remained a member of the North Central Association. IVlany improvements have been made since lVlr. and lVlrs. Gastineau came to Herculaneum. One outstanding accomplishment was the reor- ganizing ofthe Herculaneum and Pevely Districts into one. lVlany improvements have been made in our buildings, with the construction of new buildings and additions built on to others. He has improved our entire school system by adding more teachers in specialized areas. These are just a few of the accomplishments he has made in our school system over the past few years. Behind most successful men is an interested and devoted woman, so we would like to pay tribute to lVlr. Gastineau's wife, lVlartha, who has aided lVlr. Gastineau in making Dunklin R-5 the excellent school system it is today. When speaking of IVlrs. Gastineau, the first thought that enters one's mind is cooperation, as she cooperates with all the students and teachers. As librarian of Herculaneum High School she spends hour after hour helping students and teachers who need assistance in the library or in any way she can help them. We feel that we are very fortunate to have both lVlr. and lVlrs. Gasti- neau in our school system and in our community. lVlrs. Gastineau taught in the elementary grades before becoming a librarian. She taught at Campbell, lVlissouri and Kahoka, lVlis- souri. lVlr. Gastineau began his career in education as a teacher. He was also coach at Lesterville, lVlissouri, where he later became Superintendent. lVlr. Gastineau has been Superintendent of Schools for twenty-six years. He was Superintendent at Campbell, Vlissouri and was Superintendent at Kahoka, lVlissouri one year before coming to Hercu- aneum. He is a member of the Herculaneum Lion's C lub, Festus-Crystal City Rotary Club. They are Past lVlatron and Past Patron in the Eastern Star. lVlr. Gastineau is a member of the IVlasonic Lodge, Scottish Rites and Who's Who in the lVIiddlewest. They are ooth members of many professional organizations. They are members of the Church of Christ at Festus, lVlissouri and are devout workers in their church..lVIr. and lVlrs. Gastineau have two children--Becky, who is a beautician and Richard, who is Elementary Principal at lVlountain'Grove, lVIissouri. Richard is married to the former Frances Kieffer and they have two daughters, Andrea, who is five years of age, and Danielle, two years of age. IVlr. Gastineau's hobbies are sports, farming, deer hunting. lVlrs. Gastineau loves to read, but wer favorite past time is fishing. 4 ABOVE: Mr. and Mrs. Ga.stineau's son, Richard and wife Frances along with them are their children Andrea and Danielle. An explanation for Cam- era Day are the words themselves, Camera Day . The student body was asked to bring their cameras to school and take pictures of anything that they would like to see in their yearbook. The Publication's Class picked out what they thought was the best picture submitted and rewarded a free yearbook to Michael Cochran for the picture he entered in the contest. A one-fourth page spread was made of that winning picture. The Publication's Class wants to thank the student body for participating in the effort to make the 1974-75 yearbook a success. Where IS that photographerl? Wha1:'s wrong with this.-,machine Learning the ropes now? Iv The 1974-75 Publications Class would like to thank lVlr. David Witte for all the time, material, and trouble he has gone through for us this year. He always came to take pictures whenever we needed him, he also was very helpful in setting up the pictures and he always stayed for a long as we needed him--which was as often after school hours. O Ll 9 llfl ' Tom Dreiman was one photographer we couldn't have done without this year. He took many of our action shots in sports and came to school several days when we needed just a few pictures taken. His pic- tures were always good and we never had to wait long for them to arrive. Thank you very much, Tom, for the fine job you did for us. The Publication's Class would like to thank lVlr. Larry Wegmann for the contribution he has made in the preparation of the 1974-75 yearbook. He has shown the class how to use the new camera and also how to develop the pictures. lVlr. Wegmann has also taken several pictures himself which we have used in the yearbook. Thanks once again, lVlr. Wegmann. The Publication's Class received a new camera this year and lVlrs. Carol Franke also aided the class in teaching them how to use it.
