.wie Di il venth Grade ei Seventh: STARTS 76 BV WINNING SPIRIT S-TICIZ Seventh graders won the spirit stick after tough competition from the eighth and ninth graders at the first pep rally this year. Tests played an important part in the fall of 1976. Eighth graders spent one entire day taking the CTBS which shows at what grade level the student is achieving. Tests were also important to all students in determining their first quarter grades-an event students waited for anxiously. CTOP LEFTJ Ninth grade cheerleaders lead the ninth graders in a yell. 'IG-INNI9 CLUB IIZHKIEIS TO JUNIOI2 I'IIGH SCHCDOIS Competition with other junior high schools kept the Tennis Club busy during the year. In the spring, Mr. Tom Blackstone, sponsor, and players traveled to other junior high schools to compete with players with their own ability. Along with learning how to sail, the Sailing Club had many boat races at Howarth Park. They also Went to boat shows. Mr. Carlo Bottini and Mr. Ed Silverman taught the members the rules of sailing and helped them to become better boat handlers. Categories ranged from all-around best costume to the weirdest one.Winners were Kathleen Gaddy as a purple belly-dancer, Bob Davis as the Hunchback of Notre Dame and Karl Schreiber as a girl. Many excited students also dressed up for Twin Day on which two people dressed alike. Some teachers thought they were seeing double.
