Misa lifzm Moments to be remembered by you grad- uates will not be the same for all. Nor will all your remembered moments be soul-stirring and profound. But they will all be part ot you torever. A moment to be remembered by you may be an hilarious experience in a classroom, oc- casioned perhaps by a teacher's slip-ot-the- tongue, resulting in laughter-overflowing, bubbling, uninhibited. Or you may remember a moment in that same classroom when the teacher, firm and wise, awakened in you a sense of your own worth. A memorable moment may be tor you the winning of an election and rushing to phone Mom the thrilling news. Or your memories perhaps include a defeat and learning to take the bad breaks ot lite as well as the good. You may recall seeking your counselor's help when your happy world had been momentarily shattered. And your memories may include receiving from your counselor renewed faith in yourselt and in your dreams. A moment to be remembered may be the Y comfortable security of an old friend, a class- mate since your kindergarten days. And you may remember, too, the shining delight ot a brand-new friendship. Your years at Hoover have given you a variety ot moments to remember, moments elusive as quicksilver, vivid as tire, lingering as chimes in a tower. May you gather together all the memorable moments and make a record in a corner ot your heart, a record to be played back many times through the years ahead. And may the recollection ot all these moments till you with the desire to make your greatest contribution to a needy world. JQQWQ7 Msezwf 7 mr. Sfafore Dear Graduates: Live tor tomorrow. Consider yesterday's failures and triumphs only in the light ot today and the days to come. Learn to recognize your limitations. Do not spend time in remorse and regret only in so far as it will discipline you for the tasks of tomorrow. What you do and accomplish in your tomorrows is much more important than what you have done with your yesterdays. My best wishes go with you and may you make the most ot all tuture oppor- tunities to do good in the world.

Members of the Graduating Class of I956: The time of your graduation is an appropriate time for you to loolc baclr over the past three years to see what you have accomplished. lt is also the time to loolc forward to a future which will be filled with varied opportunities. To you who have made the best of your time in forming habits of concentration and study, in developing physical and mental strength, and in practicing right attitudes toward your fellow students, retrospect will be a pleasure. To you who feel that you have not made the best of your opportunities, looting baclr will be a more painful process. It is best for you to forget the past and loot into the future with deter- mination to overcome obstacles, to improve yourself, and to malce a success of your life. As you loot baclc over your high school days, may your memories of l-loover be happy memories and may the friendships made with fellow students and faculty members be a source of pleasure to you in the coming years. lt is my wish that each one of you may feel free to return often to Hoover and that you will continue your interest in and your support of the ideals and traditions of l-loover High, which each one of you has helped to establish, May we loolr forward to seeing you at future reunions and homecomings. Sincerely,
”
