BREAKING OUT OF SECTIONAL tiOverall. we had a fine season with our invita- tional wins and defending our conference title. We were happy to qualify for the regional, but were a little disappointed with our performance there. Our record of 100-23 speaks for itself considering most of our compitition is from schools larger than ours? said Coach Richmer. With a strong core of seniors like Mike Wright, Jeff Milner, Kevan Ta- bor, Davy Badger, and Steve Mitchell and talent- ed underclassmen like Matt Owen, Sean Goldman, and Kevin Brock, the Cross Country Team had another strong year. The team broke two school records, one for the most wins in a season and one for the best winning percentage i81.3l. For the second consecutive year, they won the Southern Athletic Conference title, the Graceland Invita- tional, and the New Wash- ington Invitational. Top run- ner honor goes to junior Matt Owen. Three runners had the honor of making the All- Conference team, Matt Owen, Mike Wright, and Jeff Milner. The team qualified for the Madison Regional, which made them only the second team in our schools history to make it out of sec- tional. The second day, was Oppo- site Day, the girls showed their toughness and the guys expressed their feminine side. The final day, was Black and Gold Day, everyone displayed their school spirit. This also was the time that the burning of the dragon took place ttop left corneri. Doug, Kara, Tamie, Kevin, Troy, and Dana were just a few of the students who dressed up for the 50ts ttop right corneri. Even the teachers and principal displayed their spirit as Mr. Arnold tmiddle lefti demonstrates that he knew how to dress back in the 505. Brian Wernert trighti shows off his legs on Opposite Day. I would like everyone to know that being the editor of this yearbook would not mean anything to me if it was not for my friends at Henryville High School. I get a great deal of pleasure out of seeing others laugh, cry, or joke around about their yearbook. All the time and hard work that I have las well as the rest of the yearbook staffl put into making this yearbook the best does not mean anything to me as much as being able to see others pick up their yearbook and remember all the fun times they have had during that school year. There are several people who make my job easier: the yearbook staff tfor the time they put into doing pages, thingking of ideas, and putting up with mel. Ms. Evans, for putting the interest I have for my school in me and for pushing me to make this yearbook the very best possible. And the most important person, my mother, for not getting after me when I would work on the yearbook rather than doing my homework. FROM THE YEARBOOK STAFF We are really proud of this yearbook, and we hope everyone else feels the same way. If we have made any mistakes it was a simple human error and we apologize. Over the year we have had several fund raisers to make this yearbook a success. In September we sponsored a girls soccer game, page 96. The yearbook staff would like to thank everyone who took part in making this event possible. We also would like to thank Mr. Reiger and Mr. Calfee for refereeing these games. They gave up the whole day to run up and down the soccer field. In October we had a very busy schedule. The yearbook staff would like to thank Kevin Guernsey for letting us use the old itRosslerls Antique Storeli for a haunted house. If it was not for his generosity we would probably still be looking for a house. Even after we got the permission to use the house we needed people to fix it up. Rick Beutel and Scott Locke spent many days a week building props, lighting, and many other things needed to make a haunted house complete. We also would like to thank all the people who gave of their time tpage 96l to help scare the wits out of the public. In April we had our biggest fund raiser, the Championship wrestling match. Although there was not as many people attending this event we where still pleased with the turn out tpage 102i. We would really like to thank all the fans who attended this event and the people who worked so hard. The yearbook staff would also like to thank all the teachers who told us when an event would take place so we could take pictures. A special thank you to Mr. Arnold for supporting the staff, opening the yearbook room so we could get film when we forgot, and most of all for working out a way to get us a yearbook camera. For all the friends and family who came to the events, gave us ideas, pictures, or just thought of us, we thank you too, for the yearbook would not be possible if it was not for you. A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE 120 01.53822 0;? 8 18 cm . 7 323-: ; ' w Au: mowm Nwmg N .
