Varsity Team: Kneeling: Tony Bagshaw, Jeff Tucker, Jonathan Stew- art, Rex Wycoff, Ty Guthrie Standing: Coach Holt, Todd Robertson, Mark Furnish, Dwight Collings, Guy Gordon, Jack Murphy, Robin Embry The 1981-82 Hornets started out trying to fill some big shoes that belonged to departing seniors. As could be anticipated the Hornets took awhile to find themselves and struggled through the first half of the season. The second half of the season had a different look as the team upheld the Hornet tradition of finishing strong. The hard working Hornets won 7 of their last 12 games and once again saved the best for the sectional. They defeated Shawe in the first game and upset Charles- town to avenge a 25 point regular season loss and advanced to the Sectional finals before bowing to Silver Creek. Coach Holt said that while he was disappointed by the rather poor start he was very pleased by the strong sectional showing. 11Henryville has won 4 of their last 7 Sectional games, and this team,s effort should help maintain and nourish our sectional appetites? 11This team did not give up and I am very proud of the way this group kept their good attitude and team effort through the rough times, this paid off in their fine showing in the sectional?
