This year, due to the eighth grade students wishes, there was no eighth grade graduation. So, this page usually re- served for the eighth grade graduation picture is being used for the outstanding eighth grade students this year. We, the yearbook staff, feel that they play an important part in the betterment of Henryville High School in the coming years. Pictured here are the eighth grade officers, who are elected by the members of their class by popular vote. J oan Higdon, Secretary-Treasurer, Leroy Alsup, Vice-President, Vicki Edwards, President. Every year, there are awards given to four outstanding eighth grade students who excel in scholastic standing and character. These awards are given by the Legion. This year the four stu- dents chosen were, Gloria Phillips, Vicki Edwards, Leroy Alsup, Terry Hill. Charlie J ackson did an amazing job this year. Not only did he coach Junior Varsity basketball, Track, Cross Country, Baseball, but he also coached the Eighth grade team. Two boys had outstanding performances on the team. They are David Schuler, and Terry Hill, shown here with their trophies. Another new event coached by Mr. Jackson was an Eighth grade track team. There were many boys who were on the team, but these boys stood out from the rest. Pictured here are: Bobby Bucurel,Jackie Wycoff, Bobby Hill, Terry Hill. SENIOR MEMORIES As Seniors of 1969, we shall leave the halls of Henryville High School. But the halls will not leave us, for in our minds remain the many happy and sad memories we ac- quired while attending HHS. Among the many, these few stand out from the rest. A yearbook is something which every student should, cherish. It holds the many memories of one school year. To Seniors it should mean even more. Especially the last yearbook they ever buy. There is a lot of work put into a yearbook. The members of the staff work hard. Of course, everyone does not work. But those who do, work HARD. I would like to take this space to thank all those people who worked this year on the yearbook staff. Without you, the book couldnlt have been a success. I would like. to especially thank Mrs. O,Brien for her patience, understanding, and help she has offered me the past two years. Next year, Juniors, work hard and make even a better yearbook than be- fore. Donna Tharp Co-Editor w w-w.w mew 54 KATHY GREENE D.A.R.
