We, the Seniors of 1954-55, do hereby dedicate our annual to you, the Alumni. Our yearbook is one of the most important achievements in our school life, and we would like to share it with you. Please accept this dedication, as our feeling of admiration and apprecia- tion we have for you. A -A h, , A. -1- WWW In September of 1951, forty-nine confused Freshmen were accepted into the ranks of dear old H. H. S. After being initiated by the Sophomore class we elected Ralph Guthrie President, with Billy Staplesas Vice President. Our Sponsor was Mr. Dickson. At the Senior party, Carl Hell won the talent show for the Freshman class. Margaret Bagshaw was elected cheerleader wt or our class that all. In the spring we sponsored our first high school party, which was very successful. We ended our year with a trip to Spring Mill State Park. We began the Sophomore year with thirty-nine students. Billy Staples 1n the President's chair this time,with Ralph as Vice President, and Mr. Scott as air sponsor. Ralph was elected King of the High School. We wound up the Sophomore term with another trip to Spring Mill State Park. The text was every busy year for the thirty-one students left in the Junior class. Dividing into two teams,with Earl Conroy and Carolyn Bundrenm team captains, we mld conces- sions at the basketball games. Larry Dean was our Junier class president, with Frances Lewis as Vice President. Margaret Bagshaw and Doris Dunn were elected cheerleaders out of our class. Ralph Guthrie won two trophies, one for being vetedMost Valuable Player', md also the I'Free Throw. trophy was awarded to him. With Mrs. Eberhard guiding us we gave the Seniors a banquet at Clirty Inn. The Junior year was completed with a trip to Butler State Park. Having dwindled down to a mere but mighty twenty-five students, we again elected Larry Dean as President, with Earl Cenroyas Vice President. We sponsored a very success- ful paper drive, IbI'lowed bym even more wccessful magazine sale. Billy Dietrich was high salesman with $177.00. Five people were awarded oscars, they were as follews: Billy Dietrich, Steve Rothbauer, Marcella Smith, Doris Terry and ,Larry Dean. Margaret Bagshaw and Doris Dunn were elected cheerleaders again this seem, that makings total or three years for Margaret and two for Doris. Miss Barbara Dunlevy is our Sponsor. We are looking forward to our Senior play, and class trip and finally, our graduation. Master of Ceremonies, Larry Dean, president of the Courier Journal, is now presenting the program. On the program we find Evelyn and Margaret Crowley, fam- ous tap dance team and their accompanist, Gordon McKean, one man band. Also on the program is Marvin Swisher, Mr. Music of 1974-75. Third on the program is Ralph Guthrie a ventriloquist. In our audience tonight we have many distinguished guests. Among them are, Donald Bagshaw, newly elected mayor of Henryville with his private secretary Juanita Mull; Billy Dietrich owner or Dietrich's Automobile Agency, largest J agency in Southern Indiana; Gary Wells, manufactur- er of racer tires; Steve Rothbauer, best-dressed man of the year. The luncheon was prepared by Carolyn Bundren. chief dietition of the Hotel Green, owned and operated by James Petty. The guests attending ,5 the reunion are staying free of charge at the Hotel Green. Some of the outstanding ones are,heeXh Raymond Popp, Jockey who rode Light Star in the Derby; Margaret Bagshew, modern artist who painted the famous painting Hummers Mother, 5 ::: and Doris Dunn, well known psychologist. And now going back to the reunion we hear the Four Queens, Frances Lewis, Marie Ledford, x Doris Terry, and Mary Ann Vest, singing their theme song, This New House.' The words and t Music are written by Earl Conroy and Marcella he he Smith. After the entertainment, Max Petty gave a closing speech in honor of the two members X who were absent. Junie Fleming who is now touring Europe, and Don Goforth, star pitcher for the Indians, who had a game tonight. This day will long be remembered by the fine class of '5 who made such a great success in life. It desire and longing that they will not discard these possessions, but use them to improve their talent for their own benefit. May they be continually reminded of our heart'sgpherosity displayed in the bestewal of all we possess. ITEM I. The memories of the good times and hardships at H. H. S. we take with us to cherish in the years to come. ITEMII. To the entire school we leave an excellent example or worthy scholars, commendable grades, and honorable leadership. ITEM III. We bequeath and convey to our entire faculty our note- books, workbooks, textbooks, and all bits of information we have written therein, in hopes that they will permit the oncoming classes to use this information to improve their knowledge. To the music department we convey the talent that we pessess, in hopes that they will use this talent to perform even better in years to come than they have in years gene by. ITEM VIII. To the Junior Class we bestow eur richest treasures, too great te mention, but we hope they will be able to withstand the shock.
