Among the never-to-be-fbrgotten eVents was the Freshmen Initiationw. Our attractive classmate, Joyce Davis, captured the support of the school and became Queen of the High School. Several of our boys showed outstand- ing basketball ability. The term was carried to a successful close by a trip to Spring Mill Park. Chapter two of the Class of '53 commenced with the election of Carl Bridges to the office of class President. Ida Watson brought honor to the class by being elected cheerleader, but our boys brought the most honor by winning the Second Team Invitational Tourney and the Championship Trophy. Another highlight that year was our I'April Fool's Day Partym. The trip to Clifty Fells, brought an end to aneu- lightening and happy school year. In September. '51, we became the Jolly Juniors of H. H. s. David-Dunlevyuas the unanimous choice for the office of president. The etudent body electedw Ida Watson to the position of cheerleader again. At our Christmas Party, the role of Santa Claua.was played by Carl Bridges, and everyone present had a Jolly time; The crown for Basketball Queen was seized by Mae Stotts, a very pretty queen indeed. After much hard work and careful planning, under the supervision of Mrs. Eberhard, we entertained with a dinner the class of '52 at the Woolworth Building. It was a huge success and was enjoyed by all. Our Juhior year was brought to a happy close with our trip to Brown County. Our Senior year was touched off by electing Janet Lewis class president again. To finance our trip to Washington D. C. and New York, the class sold more than $900 worth of magazines. In honor of the occasion, we had a turkey dinneg. The Seniors renewed the publication of the school paper with Melvin Wininger as Editor-in-chietz lda Watson, Curt Waggoner, ane Mae Stotts were chosen as the cheerleadihg-trlo from the Senior Class. Seven Senior boys played a great part in making the basketball . season a success. The Hornets put up a winning battle in the County Tourney and carried home the Championship Trophy end the Placque.
