Then something happened and they lost three straight before coming out and winning again. Then came time for the Co-tourney where the Hornets tackled New Washington and then Charlestown for the trophy. The Hornets were pretty well ragged out before they played Charlestown that night because their game with New Washington was so late in the evening, and they finally had to surrender to the Charlestown Pirates.n But still, Henryville didn't lose altogether for their center, Charles Dickson. won the trophy for sportsmanship. The Hornets had only to admit defeat twice in the rest or their scheduled? games. One was Charlestown who defeated them in the co-tourney and once previous to that. The other was Vsllonia, their last game, but they didn't feel so badly about that for as some of the boy's said, It's not so bad losing to a real team as Vallonia had. They ended the season with fourteen wins and six losses. The Hornets got their chance in the Sec. Tournament Thursday night,l?eb. 23, at New Albany against New Salisbury. New Salisbury came out winner by eight points, closing the basketball season for the Hhrnets. The leading scorer of the year was McKee Munk,Junior forward of the starting five with 328 points to his credit. An average or 15 points per game is nothing to be laughed at. Charles Dickson is second of the starting five with 200 oints. Charles Smallwood is third with 165. Virgel Basham is fourth with 14 and Donald Moore is fifth of the starting five with 58. We are hopeing that next year the scoring is even higher then this year, and wishing all the boy's good luck in winning all their games. Who knows, maybe Henryville will take the Sec. tourney next year: 1 l 1
