THE YEAR mDED WITH A TRIP TO WYANDOTTE CAVE. AT THE BEEINNING OF OUR JUNICR YEAR, PHYLLIS ERICKSON WAS PUT INTO THE PRESIDENT'S CHAIR. DINA SMALLWOOD WAS ELETED YELL LEADER FRO! UJR CLASS mm: WE WERE JUNIORS. A SADIE HAWKINS DAY PARTY WAS THRGVN BY US AS THE FIRST SCHOOL PARTY OFTdE YEAR. ALONG ABWT 'IHIS TIME A MAN CAME AROUND TO SEE US ABOUT OUR CLASS RIMES. WITH MIDH ARGUING AND TALKING WE FINALII PICKED ONE THAT SUITED ENOUGH OF THE CLASS TO HAVE A MAJORITY VOTE. THEY ARRIVED IN TIME FOR CHRIS'IIAS WHICH EVERYONE APPRECIATED. 'IHE NEXT EVENT OF mPORTANCE WAS 111E WINNING OF THE CLASS TOURNAMENT BY FIFBT BEATING THE SOPHCMORES AND THEN THE SENIORS IN A GRAND SLAM FINISH. WHEN 'IHIS FEAT HAD BEEN ACCQAPLISHED, THE JUNIORS DECIDED THAT A CELEBRATION PARTY WAS IN CRDFR. THIS WAS HELD THE FOLLGIING NIGHT AND EVERYONE ENJOYI'D A GREAT DEAL OF MERRIMMT AND FUN WITH THE HELP 0F SWE SENIORS WHO HAD NOT PLANNED TO BE SO HELPFUL. WE ALSO EJTERTAJIJED 'H'lE SENIORS WITH A BANQUET AT THE MASONIC TRIPLE IN NEW AIBANY. ON THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL WE JOURNEYED TO BCBWN COUNTY STATE PARK AND LATER IN THE EVENING. T0 FOUNTAIN FERRY. IN SEPTEMBER, 1948,1'WENTY-0NE STUDBQTS ENTERED H.H. S. AS SENIORS. MOST OF 'JI-IE FACE WERE FAMILIAR, BUT 'IHERE WERE MANY OF ME CRIGINAL 48 FRESI-MEN WHO WERE MISSING. WILMER WATSCN WAS RAILROADED INTO THE HRESIDEQT'S POSITION. FOR THE SECCND TIME IN A RON WE GAVE THE FIRST SCHOOL PARTY OF 'H-IE YEAR. IT WAS A HARD TIMES PARTY WHICH FEATURED SQUARE DANCING. IN OUR JUNIOR YEAR, MR. FUR- NISH SOLD US THE IDEA OF 60M T0 WASHINGTON, D.C. ON SENIOR WEEK 80 WE STARTED WORKING TOWARD THIS END. SOME OF THE PROJECTS WE UNDERTOOK WERE: SELLING HAGA- ZINE, COLIECTING SCRAP PAPER, GIVING A CHILI SUPPER AND CARNIVAL, AND SPONSOR- ING 'lHE CLASS TOURNEX. DIBING THIS YEAR WE HELD DWN THREE POSITIONS 0N 'H'IE FIRST FIVE IN BASKETBALL--CLIFFCRD ZOLIMAN, GEORGE SCHAFER AND 'H'IQIAS KULLINS. THE HORNET'S NEST WAS STAFFED BY 'DIE SENIORS WI'D'I WILMER WATSW AS EDITOR. 'n-IE ACTIVITY EVERYHIGH SCHOOL SENICR LOOKS FORWARD TO-o'THE CLASS P WAS GIVEN ON APRIL 9.
