Class History ot the Class In, September, 1947, we proudly, but shyly, entered the halls of Henryetta High School. We were green Freshmen. Between being afraid of the Seniors biting us and getting our locker and room num- bers straight we finally managed to elect our class officers. We chose Carl Bagwell for President and Charles Key for Vice-President. Joan Rork was our Secretary and Treasurer and Dorothy Dunnavant was our Reporter. For their big mouths we elected Pete Rowe and Arylene Henderson our yell lead- ers. Miss Dutton was our choice for Sponsor. The rest of the year we spent in studying hard, getting used to the new building and new faces, and settling down to four years of high school life. We end- ed the year by 'having a wonderful time at a picnic at the lake. In the fall of 1948 we entered high school for the second time. We were no longer known as green Freshmen but we were full class- men now, Sophomores. We were a wonderful class and we knew it. We knew we must elect only the best officers. The girls fought for women's rights and elected Ary- lene Henderson as President. For Vice-President we chose Carl Bag- well. lCharlene Walling was our secretary and treasurer and Char- les Hickman and Mary Ann Prew- itt were our yell leaders. Mr. Pugh was chosen our Sponsor. This year was different. We were upper class- t '51 men. Some of our boys names ap- peared on football programs and baseball and baske-tball lineups. Our girls served at the Junior- Senior Banquet and enjoyed the Pepperettes and other organiza- tions. This year We again had a picnic to end the school term. We played baseball and had a wonder- ful time. We could hardly wait for the next year when we would be JUNIORS! Our third year of highschool was full of activities. We were to be responsible for treating the Sen- iors with a Junior-Senior Banquet. Our problem was to raise the mon- ey. We started out by having a rummage sale. We worked all day. Some of us even modeled our mer- chandise - and looked pretty good in it too. Our very able officers were Don Shane, presidentg Bob Rodriquez, vice-presilcntg Arylene Henderson, secretary and treasur- erg and Pete Rowe and Shirley Wall, yell leaders. Miss Huss was elected our sponsor. We had a bake sale that went over very well. Then we gave our Junior class play, Don't Take My Penny , a comedy, which was a tremendous success. And then came the Junior-Senior basketball game and by some miracle we lost it! Then came May and time for the Junior-Senior Banquet. We were very thrilled and excited.
