Cognizant, how- ever, of tht- many di-hcicncies in our book, we, the Si-nior Class of IU60, wish to dedicate this, our most precious gift, to om- who is more than a man, but an ideal in himself. 'l'o thost- who have not had the opportunity to study under him, ht- is a mystf-ryg hut to those who have felt thc- strength of his dedication, he is the symbol of integ- rity and sinu-rity. 'l'hc atmosphere that pervades his math:-matics classes is one of learning and respect. It is ht- who vri-att-s this: it is ht- who inslills the true meaning of tht- word 4-duration in his students. Through his guidamw-, om- of his students achieved the high honor of Y Star Student of Georgia , he, himself, was honored as Star Teacher of the state. It is difficult to find words that can express our feel- ings toward him. Students who have worked with him in the Key Club may simply call him a great guy . Perhaps these are the words for which we are groping, the words which express our deep respect for him. And so to you, Mr. Godwin, for whom youth repre- sents a strong ideal of faith and truth, to you, who watch our growth with patience and devotion and see in our work some bit of worth, we offer this, the story of our lives at Grady, in the hope that perhaps, in part, we can prove that there is fulfilled that ideal of faith and truth. 7
