-.,1- I I - SONAH-27 gr .J ,H i RoY D. MCCLURE, M. D. Roy D. McClure was born in Bellebrooke, Ohio, where he later attended the country school of Greene County. In 1900 he was graduated from the Columbus North High School. He received his A. B. from Ohio State University in 1904. In 1906 he spent a semester at the University of Prague, Bohemia, and in 1908 he was graduated from johns Hopkins Medical School, where he gained his M. D. He was very active in college affairs, where he was a star athlete, and honor student. He is a member of Nu Sigma Nu. Dr. McClure is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Xi, honorary societies, mem' bership in which is awarded for high scholastic standing in academic and scientific work. In 1908 he took a position in the Rockefeller institute. In 190841 he served as House Surgeon in the New York Hospital, N. Y. From 1911f16 he filled the position of Resident Surgeon and Instructor in Surgery of the Johns Hopkins Hospital. During the War, as Major in the Medical Corps, U. S. A., he was commanding oflicer of Evacuation Hospital No. 33 in France. For a period of two years Dr. McClure was President of the National Alumni Association of the Ohio State University. Dr. McClure comes from a medical family, both his father and greatfgrandfather having been physicians. During the winter of 19154916 Dr. McClure was appointed SurgeonfinfChief of the Henry Ford Hospital and organized the Department of Surgery. He is regional representative of thejohns Hopkins University and interviews applicants for the Medical School from Michigan. Dr. McClure is the author of many medical papers, and is a member of the American Medical Society and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Southern Surgical Association. He is a member of the Grosse Pointe Country Club, Dearborn Country Club, Detroit Club, the Detroit Athletic Club and Indian Village Club.
