Music Awards Sonia Smith, Joan Davis and Enza. Miller. Brook Bently, David Burris and Richard Taylor. Twelve soloists, six ensembles, two choruses, the orchestras and the band received superior ratings at the state music contest held at the University of Kentucky in May. Approximately 115 singers participated in the event. Sonia Smith, Enza Miller and Joan Davis won high ratings in the voice solo classification. Instrumental solos played by Larry Beach, Lois Core, Jo Pival, Mary Ellen LaBach, Robert Warfield, Mac Warford, Janet Gordon, Peggy Allison, Bob Zerkle and Richard Taylor earned superiors.
