The state con- vention of the Kentucky Future Re- tailers Association was held at the Lafayette Hotel on March 3. At an Employer-Employee Banquet held on April 22 Achievement Trophies were awarded to Betty Markwell and Paul Reed of Henry Clay for academic standing and favorable employee reports. At another time in the year Pat Atkins of Henry Clay was elected State Treasurer of the Ken- tucky Future Retailers Association. Anchor Club The Anchor Club is a service organization sponsored by the Lexington Pilot Club. Mrs. Ahna Miller is advisor of the group. The Anchor Club officers for '57 -'58 were Nancy Shraberg-President, Billie Jean Parsons -Vice President, Donna Williams -Recording Secretary, Pat Hart-Corresponding Secretary, Carolyn Lowry-Treasurer, Jimmie Music-Senior Director, Brenda Lloyd -Junior Director, Carol Swope -Sophomore Director. Several of the club's projects during the year were selling orchids for crippled children, folding T. B. seals, conducting Peanuts for Polio sale in which they worked the theaters of Lexington, and beautifying the West court of Henry Clay. The Anchor Club had a total of 1,979 service hours over last year's l,400.
