The Henry Clay chapter of the National Beta Club, organized in 1955, carried out its work in 1957- 58 through a group of four committees. These committees, Service, Beta Betterment, Membership and Coat-Check, did everything from checking coats and working on ideas to better the school to entertain- ing underprivileged children in Lexington. Members of the club were chosen on the basis of CHARACTER, LEADERSHIP , SCHOLARSHIP and participation in school activities.
