Hardly had the class assembled .- under the careful guidance of Nr. John Fails, - E5 i when class elections brought Wayne Stayton the 1 ig Presidency, Caroline Greszler the position of I. , Vice-president, Lois Steele the job of Secretary, 3+ and Carolyn Schlechter the money bags as Treas- A ' : urer. This year saw one new member. Veneta ,gh-f Hozalski from Lynch, Kentucky, joined the ranks. tg 1+ e The Juniors started the ball of festivities rolling by sponsoring a hayride, which was held : - 1' V on September 21. A farewell partywas held for ', ,gg ff 0, Wayne Stayton at the home of Richard Currier on -'A-'Q' 53 December 19. Wayne moved to Indiana and later ff' 1 joined the navy. ,xi Class rings brought the next thrill, and Q frequent handwavings brought the coveted jewelry 'f into the limelight. In December the class spon- jzfl W sored the Hoosier Cornhuskers who provie those 'VKX attending with humorous entertainment. Floyd gif- , Hes s provided the music for a dance held on Feb- iw: J 'Qty ruary 21. Next was the annual event of the Jun- '- ior play. The play presented was entitled The ,IQ 1. P Big: Blow-up. ,fu Q15 Early in March, 1947, Richard Currier left T Henrietta to join the Army. 1 -- ' Ar ,jviiavh , Q The calendar kept moving, and soon the date A, X for the Junior - Senior Reception arrived. This A ' took place at Martin's Inn on May 10. A dance V was held in the school gym. Music was furnished . ,Q W:-ffg, by the Jolly Boys. iff. in My, 'A RQ! :gi All through the year the Juniors ran the j.,'fWg7lw,T- school's store. Chosen as Pres- ? ident was Carolyn Schlechterg Carl Christman, X 2 ,Q her assistantg Janet Coultrip acquired the Sec- g f-f ' retarial position, and the treasurerfs shoes ,wg-4 were ably filled by Caroline Greszler. Ei ,E Getting down to business, the class decided E to have an amateur show. It was successfully if held on October lO. Your Face Is Familiar was l i the Senior's contribution to fthe dramatic world - f g , presented on November 14 and 15. February 21 ,fu n 355 found the gym ringing with melodious notes, as fx,'11'z couples danced to the music of The Blue Banner if X Boys. This entertainment was sponsored by the ,ipfg Senior Class. Keeping up the dancing spirit, Tfgyg' another dance was given on March 19, with Emerson 5 fr-'l T Keller's Orchestra furnishing the music. fo X May 15 found the Seniors being entertained by the Juniors with a banquet and prom held at the school. i l I 445' The Seniors bade a last farewell to the old school house on May 27, their graduation night. , ' .294 Thus the year of 1948 brought to s. close X3-Hb' the four eventful years which this class will , V long remember.
