After-the first qualms caused by the new teachers and classes wore off,thenFresh1esU elected Carolyn Schlechter to lead them, with Carl Christman as Vice-President, Donald Lamver- meyer was chosen to keep the records, and Janet Coultrlp, to take care of the money. The Sophomores initiated the probationers into the realms of high school on October 6. Hallowe'en came and found three of the Freshman boys turning cook at a Hallowe'en party at the Boy Scout Farm. Oh! Those half-raw hamburgers! Arlene Holzhauer entertained the class at her home for a Christmas party. Wayne Stayton moved away during Christmas vacation, leaving the class with twelve members. On Nay ll, 1945, the Freshmen sponsored a Spring dance with John- ny Jackson's orchestra. Before they knew it, the year was over, vacation passed, and they were returning to Hen- rietta High as Sophomores. June Gerber and Wayne Stayton brought the class to fourteen. Donald Lamvermeyer was elected as President, Carolyn Schlechter as Vice.President, Janet Ooultrip as Secretary, and Arlene Holzhauer as Treasurer. Initiating the Freshmen on September 28 was the first social event of the school year. Then came the Hallowe'en party which was held on Oct- ober Sl, 1946. About this time, Donald Lamver- meyer transferred to Oberlin. This left the class with thirteen members. Jerry Currier was elected President. Thus the year was happily spent and was soon gone.
