MAUDE DOUGLAS, two dedicated women teachers. One could not begin to count the hours and the love they have given to children. How many times they have wiped away sad tears, rejoiced in a new accomplishment like a new reader or multiplication tables, helped swing a rope at recess, tied dress sashes, tucked in shirt tails, prepared holiday bulletin boards - all this, yet at the same time they have given an excellent academic background to hundreds of little lives. Many graduates of Henrietta Inde- pendent School District lead successful lives much because these women have given of their knowledge, their untiring energy, their values. This annual is dedicated to you, Mrs. Watson, and you, Mrs. Douglas, as a means of saying thank you for your wonderful years ofservice. MRS. MADGE WATSON MRS. Their sincere inter- est in the community, the faculty, and perhaps most of all, the student body is evident to everyone. Our school boardls aim is to provide the children and youth of Henrietta Inde- pendent School District the best possible education. A MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTEN DENT Dear Students: Congratulations to the staff and their sponsor for their excellent job of record- ing the activities of the 1967-68 school year. Each of us will cherish these recorded activities in the years to come. May I challenge each student in Henrietta to pre- pare himself for the future, realizing that this is a highly competitive world and you will be competing with gradu- ates from other schools in the area. Sincerely, Bill R. Wood Superintendent -unggmf BILL R. WOOD SUPERINTENDENT HENRIETTA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL Some one has said that the biggest room in the world is the 'room for improve- ment. ' Should you then ask me to explain how this statement might affect your conduct, let me say that I pray that you will examine carefully and painstakingly the thought of others, particularly those who seek to induce you to some action which they advocate, and that you will not commit yourself to any action until you have satisfied yourself that what you propose to do is just, kind, and accurate. Then I pray that you will develop the courage to stand by your findings until they are proven - to your satisfaction to be wrong. I hope that you have enjoyed this year in Henrietta High School and that you will remember your school and faculty as kindly as they will remember you. Sincerely , Sherman Taylor High School Principal STUDENT COUNCIL We, the members of the Student Council of Henrietta High School, in order to instill American ideals and promote the democratic principles of government in the youth of today, to aid in the solution of the problems of youth, to foster more friendly relations among pupils and teachers, and to be of the greatest possible service in our school. 4 3 fill I lX 'klX David Faulkner President Elaine Nolen Vice-President Ken Marshall Secretary-Treasurer George Strickland Re porter - --s asssf1HFfHe1 ff? 4.'l .'1 ' MR. Some have seen victory- Some have seen defeat. Eyes have been set on different activities and different goals. Today the seniors will go on to broader fields, and the sportsmanship, loyalty, friend- ship, love, leadership, academic achievement, which they have witnessed in 1968 and which have bonded hearts together with BEARCAT SPIRIT will set them in search of a more meaningful tomorrow.
