To focus on classes is to summon memories of mountains of homework, cramming for exams, hours of reading and research. An expanded curriculum gave students even wider opportunities to pursue individual aptitudes and interests. New science courses and classes in journalism and creative writing were among the new class offerings, while the newly formed distributive education department provided occupational training.
