GWYNNE WEST REIGNS OVER FIRST HOMECOMING “Hi ‘65,’ a formation by the band, welcomed the class of 1965 to Henrico’s first homecoming game. Other activities at half-time included the presentation of the homecoming court, made up of five senior girls chosen by the student body: Hedi Lack, Diane Schools, Carol Sorrell, Gwynne West, and Delphine Wood. Gwynne West was crowned Queen, and Diane Schools was named Maid of Honor. Henrico alumni received invitations to the homecoming game and dance with their yearbook supplements early in the fall. The queen and her court reigned over an evening of dancing with an ‘indian Summer’ theme. With music provided by the Escorts, the couples led a formation in honor of the queen. The festivities were under the direction of the Senior Class. Gwynne West, 1965 Homecoming Queen, greets her subjects. Mr. Tubbs crowns Henrico’s first Homecoming Queen. Members of the homecoming court stand by as Gwynne West is ; named Queen. Looking on are: Delphine Wood, Paul Anderson, Steve Shrader, Carol Sorrell, Frank Bradley, Diane Schools, Maid Of Honor; Jimmy Hale, and Hedi Lack. 154
