FBLA SPEARHEADS TOYS FOR TOTS DRIVE 140 Laden with Teddy bears and kiddy cars, FBLA members hustled to complete one of their many an- nual projects, ““Toys for Tots.’’ Activities were varied and many, including a trip to the Methodist Child- r en’s Home here and out-of-town journeys to Wash- ington, and Fredericksburg for the yearly FBLA Con- vention. Closer to home were the regional convention held this year in Richmond at Richmond Professional Institute and the state convention at the John Mar- shall Hotel. The Henrico Future Business Leaders com- peted in various events, including a spelling bee, a scrapbook judging, and a public speaking contest. The need of students to have business training was discussed by Mr. William V. Daniel at the an- nual assembly sponsored by FBLA. Leading the FBLA were Mary Moore, President; Martha Anis, Vice-President; Barbara Dickerson, Sec- retary; Brenda Garnett, Treasurer; and Mrs. Martin, Sponsor. An informative talk on the need for business education in high school is delivered by Mr. William V. Daniel.
