Twelve members took part in music--eight were in the orchestra, three in the Girls' chorus, eight boys participated in athletics. When the roll was called August 31, 1931, five old members were miss- ing: Herman Deck, Ura McGinnis, Margaret Braden, Arlyn Moss, and John jackson. John Jackson continued his education at Armstrong High School. We gladly welcomed two new members, responding to the roll call as Joseph Ander- son and Iola Shepler. Some months later Alberta Felgenhauer was forced to withdraw on account of illness at home. At the beginning of the second semester Dean Sperry joined us from Van VVert High School in Ohio, and Glenn Lusk, from Mansfield High School. The class officers for this year were: Lawrence Hudson, President, Isabel Huffman, Vice-President, Lucille Morgan, Secretary, lola Shepler, Reporter, Lyle Hamilton, Athletic Board, Mr. Hay, Faculty Adviser. Sept. 5, 1932, our class welcomed three new members in Frank Rose, Her- man Sager, and Ora Patten, from Normal, lll. The class officers for our Jun- ior Year were: Isabel Huffman, President, George Daniels, Vice-President, Lucille Morgan, Sec.-Treasurer, Glenn Lusk, Reporter, Lyle Hamilton, Ath- letic Board and Mrs. Burke, Faculty Adviser. The class presented its first play The Blue Bag. The Juniors entertained the Seniors at the annual Junior-Senior banquet at the High School Gymnasium. After the banquet both classes motored to Danville, where they enjoyed a photo- play at the Fischer Theatre. On the return trip how it did rain! Sept. 4, 1933, the class of 1934 appeared again at H. C. H. S. to finish their course of education. At this time there were thirteen occupying the last two rows of seats on the east side of the assembly. The class officers were: Ora Patten, Reporter, Pearl VVatson, Sec.-Treasurer, Dean Sperry, President, George Daniels, Vice-President, Lyle Hamilton, Athletic Board. Later in the year Charles Morton, Herman Sagers and Frank Rose were no longer found among the Seniors. At the end of the first semester George Dan- iels, feeling he had enough education, quit school and took up the lumber busi- ness. Later, in the last semester, Pearl Watson no longer answered to roll call, but Alice Wynn and Ruth Edgington were added in her place. The class of '34 presented their second play, f'Here Comes Charlie . Being short of girls, they called upon Ruth Wyman and Lucile Elliot to take part. On May 3, the Senior class sponsored the annual stunt night. Those partici- pating and winning are as follows: Sophomores, First, Dramatic Class, Second, Freshmen, Third, juniors, Fourth, and Music Class, Fifth. -CARL VVALTERS. Page Eight
